In Tampere the student housing is administrated by TOAS student housing foundation. Students will have their own bed room which is furnished with a bed, a mattress, a bookshelf and a desk and will share a kitchen and bathroom with one or two other students. Student dormitories are mainly located to the walking distance from the university campus.

TUT International Office organizes an orientation week in the beginning of each academic year. During the orientation students will meet their fellow students, get to know their tutors, receive important information related to their studies and get to know the university campus and neighborhood nearby.

All international students are assigned two tutors who are degree students studying at TUT. The tutors are trained to take care of the international students and will help all new arrivals to settle in in Tampere. Tutors will also organize a lot of free time activies together with the club for international students INTO (www.into-club.org)
