Description:

The Faculty of Economics was founded in 1992, with the integration of the research and teaching facilities at Veliko Tarnovo University and the Economics Institute that had been operating under the aegis of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The Faculty offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the following branches: Economics, Administration and Management, Tourism, Public Communications and Information Sciences and Social Services. The Faculty of Economics offers the following Bachelor and Master programmes:


Finance: provides training in the professional fields of economics, such as financial aspects of companies and business enterprises, public finances, stock market, banking, insurance, tax and customs administration, social insurance. Bachelor's and Master's degrees can be acquired.


Economic Management: Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes designed to prepare professionals for company management who can successfully meet the market economy demands. The curriculum aims to provide solid knowledge and skills in macro- and micro-economic theory, accounting, statistics, finance, industrial relations, business information systems, etc.


Marketing: offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees that aim at training students to do market research and advertising management; to carry out the marketing policy of firms and other enterprises. There is an emphasis on the market theory, market research and marketing strategies, international marketing, theory of prices, advertising and client management, the use of business information systems.


International Economic Relations: offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees in areas of international economic relations, with a special emphasis on foreign language study and the acquisition of business communication skills.


Tourism: Bachelor's and Master's degrees preparing students for careers in tourism, with a wide selection of subjects that mainly aim at training specialists for management, planning and development of the tourism industry as well as mastering students' foreign language and computer skills.


Public administration: Bachelor's and Master's degrees preparing students for managerial and executive careers at all state and local administrative levels. This is an interdisciplinary specialization, characterized by an integrated study of economics, political, legal, historical, sociological and other subjects, as well as computer science and psychology.


Accounting and Financial Control: Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the areas of accounting, economic analysis and financial control.


Social Services: Bachelor's and Master's degrees, with an emphasis on the theory and practice of organizing, administering, and implementing a wide range of social services. Students receive training in the fields of the social healthcare, social research, management of social service units (social care centres, charitable trusts and organizations), psychology, sociology, jurisprudence, information technology and statistics, education, social management.


Library and Information Services: a Bachelor's degree programme that aims to develop knowledge and skills in librarianship and information services.

Book publishing: a Bachelor's degree programme preparing specialists for all areas of the book publishing process in the public and private sector; namely, managers, editors, proofreaders, designers, operators.


Public relations: Bachelor's and Master's degrees preparing students to work in the prestigious for the developed countries profession Public relations. The curriculum includes a wide range of fundamental disciplines from the field of humanities, psychology of communication, media studies, law, marketing, etc.


Journalism: a Bachelor's degree programme that aims to provide students with a broad training towards a journalist qualification and to equip them with the essential skills to report about all spheres of social life and facilitate an effective information flow. Graduates will be professionals, well-suited for employment as journalists in national and local media.


Social Enterprise: a Bachelor's degree programme that prepares students to work in the social sphere, social economy and social enterprises.
