International Association of Physics Students IAPS

Description

Our main goal is to bring students together and enable collaboration and better understanding, as well as discussing and acting on scientific, social and cultural issues.
We run an annual International Conference for Physics Students (ICPS), visit to global research institutions, summer schools and multinational meetings all over the world.
An executive committee elected at the Annual General Meeting, which runs during ICPS, governs IAPS.
IAPS collaborates with numerous international bodies including amongst others: the European Physical Society, the Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society and the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience.

Our future plans include providing a wider variety of events for students all over the world and increase membership so that more students have access to our events.

Trips we organise for the year 2011 include space science in Netherlands, particle physics at CERN, renewable energy in Portugal and nuclear power in Chernobyl.
